I LOVE a good themed wedding or shoot and I love putting them together. This year I had planned a trip to St. George, UT and I knew that I wanted to shoot weddings formals in Zion National Park but I didn’t want them to be the typical bride and groom photos. I wanted something more and then I remembered May 4th has become quiet the day to get married and I thought, let’s go Star Wars. I do want to start off by saying that I am a fan of the original StarWars series and I am not sure what is going on with the new ones…that being said, let’s get down to the goods! I wanted to create something that any fan would wish for when it came to their wedding photos (If they did themed photos for their wedding). I mean who wouldn’t want to wear Storm-trooper helmets in a wedding gown?

The shoot was 100% styled and more of a “make believe” shoot since Justin and Ashlen met on site for the first time but can you tell? As troopers are mainly white we wanted to give that look to both the bride and the groom. We decided on working with classic black and white. Minus our bouquet where we went Samuel Jackson purple just because we could. There’s never an occasion not to use smoke-bombs, right? I wanted to keep with the black and white, letting Zion do the color! I also thought it would look slightly “battlefront” smokey. We got a lot of attention with honks and cheers as we shot! (Which is a great sign right?!)
