Some people are just a joy to capture, and these two are no exception! Every time I get the chance to photograph them, I’m reminded why they’re two of my favorite people to work with. This summer, while we were all in Utah, we decided we needed to do another shoot. We knew it was the perfect time to venture out to the Bonneville Salt Flats for some sunset photos. And let me tell you—it did not disappoint!

A Busy Day at the Bonneville Salt Flats

The Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah are a dream location for photographers. On this particular day, it seemed like everyone had the same idea! The flats were packed with racers, families taking photos, planes flying overhead, and people everywhere you looked. Despite the crowd, we knew this iconic Utah location was still the perfect spot for these two.

Photoshop to the Rescue

With so many people around, you’d think it would be impossible to capture those quiet, intimate moments. But thankfully, I’m well-versed in Photoshop! By removing the crowds, I was able to create stunning Bonneville Salt Flats photos that felt serene and focused. The Bonneville Salt Flats photography experience is so unique that even with all the activity, we managed to make it feel like we had the entire place to ourselves in the final images.

The magic of the Bonneville Salt Flats at sunset is unmatched. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the entire landscape transformed, with soft, pastel hues reflecting off the white salt flats. This created a surreal and dreamy atmosphere, perfect for Utah sunset photos. The golden hour at this location made for some absolutely stunning images. If you’ve never visited, the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah are a must-see, not just for photos, but for the experience of standing in such a vast, beautiful space.
