I’ve been around the block a time or two when it comes to proposals in the area because I’m a proposal photographer in the Smoky Mountains. I’ve been able to work with some incredible couples who have experienced the most romantic proposals, so I’m sharing all my fave spots! If you’re looking for the best Smoky Mountain proposal locations, that don’t involve a hike, I’ve done a bit of research on spots that can make your proposal unique. If you’re looking for a spot near Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, I’ve got some places for you!
The Island
First up, The Island is able to put together a beautiful space for you and your loved one so you can propose without the stress. They have multiple locations for you to choose from including the top of Great Smoky Mountain Wheel for your perfect moment. There is a proposal coordinator who will be dedicated to making your proposal one you’ll never forget. And they have an easy way for you to book a good day for you online.
Garden at Parrot Mountain
There are multiple picture perfect proposal spots at Parrot Mountain and Gardens. There are beautiful parrot cottages and a charming waterfall. And most importantly there is a stair replica of a painting called “Stairway to Paradise” by Thomas Kinkade. Wherever you decide to propose will be a lasting memory.
Ripley’s Aquarium at the Smokies
If you are a big fan of sea animals, you should stop by Ripley’s Aquarium! The best part is, you can also propose there with the help of the staff. You can contact their “Education Department” by email at education@ripleys.com. There are videos on YouTube that show how sweet the proposals there are. A diver in one of the tanks holds a sign saying “Will You Marry Me” as you get down on one knee.
Anakeesta
Take a stunning ride on The Chondola up to Anakeesta. There are so many beautiful spots to get that perfect photo of your special moment. Just picture a valley of trees below you as you get down on one knee. Anakeesta also has a gorgeous mountain top garden and don’t forget about the treetop skywalk bridges. Or you can take a magical evening stroll along the Treetop Sky Bridge lit up with twinkling lights. It’s like a fairytale.
Grand Staircase at Titanic Museum
If you’ve seen Titanic, you remember the moment when Jack and Rose fell in love at the top of the Grand Staircase. At the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, you can make your dreams for a special proposal come true. They offer a package where someone from the crew helps set up and they’ll take a photo of the exact moment they say, “yes.” They say they’ll “handle arrangements to make sure she doesn’t know.”
Heritage Carriage
Make her your Cinderella on a Heritage Carriage ride. Take a ride through Pigeon Forge in a horse drawn carriage shaped like a pumpkin. It’s sure to make her smile. You can contact them for any special requests for your proposal, but they offer a rose included in the couple’s price.
Gatlinburg Space Needle
Last but certainly not least, we’ve got the Gatlinburg Space Needle. So you’re a sucker for a stunning view and you’re ready to propose. You can always get on top of the 407 foot Gatlinburg Space Needle with views of downtown Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains to do so! You can kneel behind her as she takes in the gorgeous views and as she turns around she’s shocked as you pop the question.
Now that you know the top Smoky Mountain proposal locations, if you need the perfect pictures to hold onto that memory forever, I’ve got you covered. Send me a message!
I’m popping the question the week of valentines….we’ll be there 2/12 – 2/17….looking for a place and a photographer……
